Welcome to Hewitt class. 

Mrs Peters and Mrs Pollitt welcome you to Hewitt's (year 5 and 6) class page.

Who's who in Hewitt?

Mrs Pollitt teaches our class Monday and Tuesday, Mrs Peters from Wednesday to Friday.

Mrs Irwin is in class everyday.

RE - Unit 5.3: Jesus

Easter Why do Christians believe Easter is a Great Victory?

Science - Electricity 

Geography - Frozen Kingdoms - Looking at the Arctic and Antarctic areas of the world; its landscape, weather and inhabitants.

ICT - Computing systems and networks & Creating media – Web page creation

Art - Inuit Art - This project teaches children about the Inuit way of life, including some of their cultural and artistic traditions.

DT - Moving mechanisms

PE - Swimming and gymnastics

PHSE - Dreams and Goals, what would we like to be in the future.

Our Zones of Regulation - recognising how we are feeling and what we can do to help ourselves

French - More family members and feelings (hot, cold, thirsty)

REMINDERS:

Spellings: 

Spellings are learnt every week at school. We will not be sending lists home each week but if you would like to practice at home download the spelling sheet at the bottom of the page. 

Try not try some of these spelling games to continue practising your weekly learnt spelling rules:

Reading:

Reading books will be sent each week and should be returned so that a new book can be sent home. 

Sport lessons:

We have swimming every Tuesday,  children need to bring a swimsuit, cap and towel with them. PE day is Friday. Please ensure that your child comes to school on Friday in the school PE kit with a school jumper and black tracksuit bottoms over shorts / black leggings if they are cold. For gymnastics, children will need thin-soled pumps or bare feet in the hall.

Homework:

Homework sheets will be sent home every Friday. Please return your homework by Wednesday the following week.
