Welcome to Walker Class!
Thank you for visiting our class page! Here you will find all the up-to-date information about everything happening in Walker class.
Our class teacher this year will be Miss Matthews, we are also very lucky to have Miss Stasik and Mrs Rogers there to support us throughout the day.

We are a mixed Year 1/2 class with an exciting year ahead of us - with the introduction of our continuous provision area throughout the KS1 classes. This gives the children an opportunity to become increasingly more independent with their learning and development. We can't wait for the children to see what has been created for them!
Reading, through the use of our new phonics program, Little Wandle will also be a big focus this year. We are hoping for much happier and confident readers this year, providing opportunities for reading throughout every lesson too! We will deliver this phonics program to improve our children's reading, fluency and comprehension skills.
With this in mind, we would appreciate it if you could read with your child daily to ensure they are making progress - and please let me know of any brilliant reading happening at home!

Key Information
Reading:
Reading books will be given to children on Thursday and expected to return them to school by Tuesday.
Please ensure to read with your children daily.
P.E. lessons:
Walker Class have PE every Monday. Please ensure that your child comes to school on Friday in the school PE kit with a school jumper over the top if they are cold.
Times tables:
By the end of year 2 children are expected to have learnt the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Please continue to practice these at home and use these websites to support with their learning:
